- 1 tsp ajwain/carrot seeds
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 1 cup warm water to knead the dough
- 1 small onion chopped
- 2 green chilli chopped
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1/2 cup coriander leaves
- as needed Chutney/sauce
- 1/2 cup mint leaves with stem
- 5 Kashmir red chillies (less heat)
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1/3 cup tamarind nicely washed
- 3 garlic cloves
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp jaggery powder(optional)
- 1 tsp lemon juice
Instructions to make to make Besan ki Roti
- First seive wheat flour and besan into a big bowl.now add in carrom seeds/ajwain,salt and oil and mix well.
- Now add red chilli powder,turmeric powder and knead the dough with warm water.It should be a soft dough and not stick will not stick to your hand.now add in the chopped onion,coriander leaves,mint leaves,green chillies with cumin seeds and again knead the dough. Cover and let it rest for few minutes.
- Meanwhile prepare the chutney/sauce.just grind the mint leaves,garlic,Kashmiri red chilli,cuminseeds,salt (jaggery)with tamarind into smooth paste then add in 1 lemon juice.chutney is ready.
- Now make some small dough balls and roll into flat bread and First dry roast on tawa then add some ghee and roast both sides.repeat the same process with all the dough balls.
- Now serve hot with chutney/sauce and enjoy
